Riding Observations:
July 15,
2004: Okay, so if you have been
checking back lately, youÕve no doubt noticed that I have not been updating my
riding since the morning of the 8th. That would be because if I rode any time since the 9th
I would have died. Apparently I
have developed some form of allergies and it hit me so hard on the 9th
that I thought it was possible I needed to be hospitalized for not being able
to breathe. Like, at all. Scary. Needless to say, I am recovering and should hit the bike
again in the next couple days. In
less than one month I will be on a bike for a really really long time making my
ass really really sore. Yippie!
July 7,
2004: Riding into a strong headwind
blows. And it seems that I am
always riding into a strong headwindÉboth directions, any time of day. Blows.
As you can tell I am not big
on the training. I like riding the
bike but when it interferes with life, weÕve got a problem. But I attended a ride party this
evening and I really really really need to be training more. Some guy has done over 200 miles in
like 12 days. Yeah.
June 23,
2004: Boston drivers really suck when
it comes to paying attention to cyclists, a given. But what is even worse is when that driver works with you
and he/she almost nails you in the parking lot. Whoops! Hello
folks!
In the mornings, I have one
hell of a time breathing. I just
refilled my Nasacort Aqua prescription from CVS but donÕt know that itÕd doing
the trick. Jon wants me to try his
inhaler, yet that seems dangerous.
What if I am riding down the road and my lungs freeze or something? Not that I know what an inhaler really
does, but it seems like freezing lung pops is a possibility. The breathing is not as bad in the
afternoon so I think itÕs a combo of the way I sleep (my body is contorted and
constrained and not stretched out and ready for activity) and the fact that I
can never breath in/out of my nose.
I need to see someone about this before I just pass out dead. If there is some dead gay guy on the
side of the road, stop to see if itÕs me.
Either the inhaler got me, a coworker hit me, or I just plain couldnÕt
breathe. IÕll keep you posted.
