LOST Season 4 Spoilers: Comic-Con Panel

I’ve got my write up of the LOST panel and some juicy spoilers over at: DUCKY DOES TV!

COMIC-CON Scoop All Weekend

Comic-ConI leave in a mere 5 hours for sunny San Diego where I’ll probably see no sun or feel no summer loving as I’ll be spending all of my time inside the San Diego Convention Center with 200,000 of my closest geek friends.

COMIC-CON 2007 begins tomorrow and I’m there all weekend with GMMR and some other TV Bloggers for the biggest group of television panels a fan could dream of.

Want LOST scoop? Heroes Spoilers? Supernatural Hotties? Battlestar’s Final Season Spoiler? The dish on new shows like Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Bionic Woman, Reaper, Moonlight, Journeyman, and many more? Want a podcast chock full of these goodies? Well, keep checking back all weekend as I’ll try and post some updates each night.

Want to follow me all day, Thursday through Sunday while I try and get Lee Pace naked? Follow me on TWITTER! There’s also a Twitter panel on the right hand sidebar. Check back for updates throughout the day, all day, all weekend!

While I’m gone, please head on over to my new site… DUCKY DOES TV! I’m in the midst of moving all posts there so that will be Ducky’s new home very very very soon! Let me know what you think. I love the new layout and I’m still working on all the content so bear with me.

May the force be with you or something dorky like that!

TV Podcast #11: Big Brother, SYTYCD, Burn Notice and more

We’re back… Podcast #11: Big Brother 8, Burn Notice, Psych, So You Think You Can Dance, Transformers, Rescue Me, Kathy Griffin, Porn, Prison, Ugly Betty, Comic-Con and more.

Duckyxdale GiveMeMyRemote Podcast

TV Podcast 11: Ducky and GMMR take a dip in the technical difficulties pool and come out swinging.

BIG BROTHER 8 has arrived and we’re obsessed. We talk spoilers, live feeds, and our favorites. What do we think about BURN NOTICE? PSYCH’s back on USA. KATHY GRIFFIN does gay porn and RESCUE ME forgets to rescue one of their own.

Do we need two karaoke shows? We dissect SPELLING BEE and DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE continues to dominate the summer and we talk about our new favorites.

A little TRANSFORMERS talk? Sure, just a bit. COMIC-CON? Yes, we’re now Comic-Con geeks and we preview our trip at the end of July. PUSHING DAISIES, MOONLIGHT, BIONIC WOMAN and other Fall Shows.

Ducky Does COMIC-CON

Comic-ConAs you’ve maybe heard me mention in one or two posts, I’m taking my first trip to San Diego’s COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL in two weeks.

Comic-Con has moved beyond the manga lovin’, furry wearing, swoard bearing, trekkies you’re thinking about right now. It’s more than a comic book convention. It’s a sci-fi convention as well. That doesn’t make it sound any less geek central does it? It’s turning into a Sci-Fi/Horror/Fantasy Film and TV Convention as well. Sound better? I thought so.

As you know, I’m one of the people that runs The Independent Film Festival of Boston (shout out Nancy, Brian, and Christine who regularly read the blog and are my cohorts) and obviously you know I’m a big TV geek. The chance to see panel discussions, meet creators of film and tv shows I love, see sneak previews of films and tv shows I love is just too big. I must go!

GMMR and I are shacking up in San Diego for the week and we’ll be meeting up with Rae, The TV Addict, Seat42f and many other tv bloggers (as well as 250,000 of our closest and scariest friends) to cover all things fall tv! We’re also hoping to do a huge TV Bloggers Podcast or two!

What shows are gonna be there? The list is big and here are the ones I plan on attending in some capacity.

TORCHWOOD (BBC America’s spin-off of Doctor Who)
LOST
REAPER
MOONLIGHT
24
CHUCK
PUSHING DAISIES
BIONIC WOMAN
TVGuide’s Hot List and Super Women
HEROES
KYLE XY
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
SUPERNATURAL
SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES
SARAH SILVERMAN PROJECT
BUFFY’s 10th Anniversary
TIN MAN
The 4400
JERICHO

Granted some of these panels overlap so there will be a few that get missed but TV wise, this is my dream list. There are also a number of film events that I want to attend.

Paramount Studios Presentation, Lionsgate Presentation, FANBOYS (with Kristin Bell), Warner Bros Films, 20th Century Fox, Shoot Em Up, Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN!!!!!, Rogue/Focus films, The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton and many more.

Kinda crazy, huh?

Are any of you guys going? What do you want me to find out or meet or see while I’m there? Let me know.

    Tribute To The LOST Dead

The Season Finale of LOST killed off a number of characters so I thought I’d share some of those with you.

First, our beloved Charlie who drowned a hero (or an idiot because seriously you could have closed the door BEHIND you just as easily but what do I know…)
    Charlie Dead

Then those crazy women down in the Looking Glass Hatch.
    Lost finale Dead

The Seven Others that Sayid, Jin, and Bernard took out!
    Lost Others Dead

Naomi, we barely knew thee but Ben certainly warned us of your motives. Was he correct? Did Locke go ballistic and kill you for no good reason? Only time will tell.
    Naomi Dead

Oh this one made me the saddest. I’ve always had a soft spot for Zeke Mr. Friendly Tom. I never believed he was completely bad. He was no Ben but I can’t say I really trusted him as he was a pretty big flip-flopper. Oh and Ryan, how was getting run over buddy? Hugo and his Mystery Machine!
    Tom, Ryan, Dead

And finally, will Mikhail ever die? Seriously, he’s got more lives than Paula Marshall has failed television series’.
    Mikhail Lost

    LOST Season Finale

    Lost Jack
    HOLY FRAK!

I’m absolutely blown away by the season finale of LOST tonight! I just finished watching like 30 seconds ago and I still have wet eyes from its incredible sadness and can I just say… awesomeness?

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the much hyped “show changer” and I honestly didn’t see that coming.

    SPOILER ALERT

    Those Not Watched…

Apparently I have narcolepsy because I’ve fallen asleep almost every night this week way before my normal bed time. That means I’m not caught up on a couple shows.

I’ve still not watched last week’s The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, or Supernatural (those were because I was moving on Friday and the movers packed the TV and DVR on Thursday and I’ve not have time to watch them yet in part because I can’t find the iPod dock and wire to update my iPod which is really annoying me). Worse, all the finales are tonight!

This week I’ve only caught bits and pieces of Veronica Mars (I saw Keith gloat about having a 97 on his PI Test and enough squee worthy cuteness between Pizonica to make my head spin) and even less of LOST (in which I saw Rousseau cross wires and some shit blow up! which was about 3 minutes in).

    Narcolepsy, it sucks…

    ABC Announces Fall Lineup

ABC LogoABC just announced their lineup and so far, it’s about on par with NBC. A mix of old and new. Do I watch ABC that much? I couldn’t remember but I guess I don’t?

I’ve got LOST (coming back on Winter 2008), Grey’s, and Brothers & Sisters so really ABC could stand to gain me as a more frequent viewer. With the addition of Pushing Daisies and Private Practice, they’re on the right track.

Here’s the Fall/Winter Schedule on ABC
    * = new show

    MONDAY
8-9 pm Dancing With the Stars

    8-8:30 pm Caveman*

    10-11 pm Boston Legal

    WEDNESDAY

    9-10 pm Private Practice*
    10-11 pm Dirty Sexy Money*

    THURSDAY

*Post-Fall Shows to debut and renewals: Cashmere Mafia*, Notes from the Underbelly, October Road and obviously LOST will have it’s 16 week uninterrupted season in the spring.

The ones I’m most interested in are:

    Pushing DaisiesPUSHING DAISIES
Lee Pace is amazing and its about time he found a vehicle for his abilities. I’ve loved him since playing a transgendered person in SOLDIER’S GIRL. Then, HELLO, Wonderfalls? I heart Lee Pace. Swoosie Kurtz as well? I love her. This is being pumped as The Next Big Thing. This is the Heroes for next fall. Speaking of Heroes, I think that Audrey/Sylar’s Mother is in this as well! Lee Pace, dreamboat…

    Private PracticePRIVATE PRACTICE
Addison, Piz and those Abs? I’m there with fingers crossed that I can stop watching Grey’s if this is good enough! You go Kate Walsh breaking away and getting your own gig. I only wish it didn’t have the title it has. Private Practice sounds so pedestrian and medically. What else would it have been called? Oceanside Wellness Clinic? Okay, so maybe Private Practice isn’t all that bad.

As for the rest, I’m not sure. I’m very interested in Sam I Am because I love Christina Applegate and Jean Smart. Women’s Murder Club interests me because of Laura Harris and I’ve been down with her since FIFTEEN! But really, this show’s gonna go nowhere with show killer Angie Harmon. Cashmere Mafia because women like Lucy Liu and Frances O’Connor kick ass. Lastly, Dirty Sexy Money is also of interest because let’s face it… Peter Krause is amazing and there’s a Baldwin in it.

    LOST Sets End Date

Jack LOST And I say Amen! As you probably remember, months ago Darlton (Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse) tried to muscle ABC into cooperating and setting a end date for their show LOST. It would allow them to creatively plan and map out the future of our favorite characters (keep Juliet, or I swear…) and the show. They told ABC they needed at least 100 episodes and left it in ABC’s hands. God knows I wasn’t expecting much.

Tumbleweeds for months… Then today, news came that ABC has agreed and the end is near!

LOST LIVES ON FOR 48 MORE EPISODES!

Lost will get 3 more seasons to wrap up their series. I know what you’re thinking… 3×22 does not equal 48. Well that’s because they are giving them 3 seasons at 16 consequitive episodes each. Beginning in 2008 (yes, we have to wait until 2008) LOST goes uninterrupted for 16 episodes, disappears for many months and then hits us again for another 16. Then in 2010 it’s the final 16 episodes.

I’m sad just thinking about it. I’m completely excited that the show will get to maintain creative control and integrity but it saddens me to know that after next week’s finale we only have 48 more chances to hear Sawyer call someone Freckles, or Doc, or Stay Puff. Only 48 more chances to not see Rose and Bernard. Only 48 more chances to hear the words “BRUTHA.” Oh the places it will go!

Catching Up With Last Weeks TV

I haven’t really been able to watch television for the week or two leading up to the Independent Film Festival of Boston but now that it’s over, I can play some catch up!

    American Idol
I did not see last week’s charity head case known as American Idol “Idol Gives Back” and from the clips I’ve seen online and in the recaps, those white outfits were not so horrible I wouldn’t have been able to sustain three hours of it anyway. I got news of the double elimination sometime later in the week and until that point I was working under the notion that Jordin Sparks was kicked off. Yeah, someone played a cruel joke.

I was pleasantly surprised to find she in fact was not kicked off (nor was anyone). Then I got sent a picture of who until I received this picture was my new choice for winning this lame season of Idol. The picture is of Jordin with a Pro-Life sign. Guess who’s no longer my choice to win American Idol?

    Jordin Sparks Pro-Life

Last night The Alien and Chris Richardson got the boot. Oh well… as long as my Blake is there, that’s all that matters. How amazing is Blake? He’s unreal. And PS - A Chris Richardson/Blake Lewis sandwhich is pretty amazing to think about…

    Heroes
5 Years into the future is way OOC! They did a really good job with moving the stakes of this show waaaaaaaay up! Insane how much went down this week. Peter looks manly with that scar and his ass is dating crazy Niki. Sylar’s killed a lot more people, including the President of the United States, Nathan Petrelli, Candice, and finally he has taken out the Cheerleader. HRG is in contact with Claire, works as a smuggler of kinds for those with abilities. The Haitian was working with Homeland Security which is now run by Parkman. Hiro’s bad ass subway sword Hiro and poor Ando’s dead. Unreal…

    Brothers & Sisters
Can you imagine this show without Rob Lowe? Could Emily Van Camp be playing a more evil and twisted whore? Could Kevin’s lips be any more pink? Could Nora be any better? Could Justin be more of a wet blanket? Could Rachel Griffith be acting her ass off anymore? Still really enjoying this show!

    Drive
Um, I started basically 24-hour festival duties on Tuesday and somewhere in that time, Fox cancelled DRIVE. I was wondering what happened Monday night because it didn’t record. Lame. I’m really digging the show and seriously, poor Amy Acker and Nathan Fillion NEED SHOWS THAT CAN SURVIVE!

    Supernatural
Folsom Prison Blues was a great episode. The ghouls and demons were wonderfully creepy and seriously, Dean was waaaaaaay funny this past week. I loved the whole “What are we? From Texas?” comment and also Sam asking Dean if he was at all concerned with how into Prison life he was. Jensen’s really had some shining moments this season and with each episode I become more and more of a fan. Also a nice added touch to last week’s episode were all the references to previous jobs and the consequences of their actions. I really appreciate that the writers keep that in our minds. Lesser shows wouldn’t even address previous criminal acts and I like the justified but incorrect way they rationalize all of it.

    Grey’s Anatomy
While there were moments to last week’s episode that rang true for the Grey’s I used to love and adore, there are still elements that annoy the shit out of me. I couldn’t be more over this whole George/Izzie thing. It’s beyond obvious that Callie knows something is up and that the show is holding out on the confrontation until the end of sweeps. The whole Derek/Meredith thing is retarded. He’ll be in the hospital where she’ll be working, it’s so not the same sitch as Adele and Richard. All I kept thinking the whole episode was how great it would be if the spin-off was better than Grey’s so I could stop watching this Titanic of a show.

    Lost
Last week’s Sun episode of Lost was friggin traumatic. Granted when I watched it, I’d had only about 10 hours of sleep in 5 days so I may have been hormonally off balance but hot damn did I cry through most of the episode. Sun’s transformation mimics that of Juliet’s. The character they are today on the island couldn’t be further from who they were off the island. Juliet was so mild and meek and such a wet blanket. Her demeanor is so different and more confident and ruthless since the 3 years have passed. Sun is similar. Her whole character and her whole physical being is different from flashback to present. Incredible acting and incredible transformations make both of these women compelling and strong while showing they weren’t always so.

And there is nothing better than watching Sun tell a withered old whore that she’ll drop of the power of her family onto her and crush her if she dare show her face around Sun or Jin again. Amen sister! Tears for Jin’s father, Tears for Sun’s situation, Tears for Juliet wanting to give good news, Tears for Sun discovering the baby really is Jin’s and being happy instead of devestated she’ll only have three months left to live. I was a soaking mess after that hour.

I don’t remember if I watched anything else. It was all a fog. I’m trying to play catch up but it’s hectic as I’m also moving in a week. More to come…

    Matthew Fox is Racer X

Matthew Fox LOSTTVGuide is reporting that LOST star Matthew Fox is joining the increasingly great cast of the live action adaptation of SPEED RACER! It’s about time Matthew Fox gets his due! He’s had one hell of an Emmy year and people need to be recognizing…

Here he comes, here comes speed racer, he’s a demon on wheels! Go Go Speed, Go Go Go Go Speed, Go Go Go Go Speed, Goooooooooooooooo!

I love the idea of Charlie Salinger/Jack Shephard Matthew Fox playing the uber-villian Racer X, Speed’s nemesis and brother.

    Racer X

It was announced earlier in the week that Christina Ricci just joined as Speed’s chipper girlfriend Trixie (here’s to hoping she can master that laugh!). Fox and Ricci join Emile Hirsch as Speed, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon as his parents. Speed Racer is being directed by The Wachoski Brothers (Matrix, V for Vendetta, and Bound).

Gone Most of the Day (Thur-Sun)

I will be away from a computer most of the day everyday from Thursday to Sunday as I am out of town and will then be travelling again.

*Update: Saw Top Model and thank goodness Whitney got the boot.  She’s a gorgeous girl but seriously has the deadest photos of any contestant on any cycle.  Bad model, good looker.  I hate that I felt something other than disgust and disdain for Renee.  Damn the heart felt reunion.  While I’m at it, could these young girls have more children?  This ain’t America’s Next Teenage Mother!  And what the hell was Tyra wearing?  For reals…

Sitting in a hotel for 7 days will inevitably make you watch things like the first episode of Sheer Genius.  Sheer Crap is more like it.  Oy with the bitchy gays and the old faces on this show.  And I’m not just talking about Jacqueline Smith and the Shane (L Word) look alike hosting this thing.  I cannot get sucked into another show.  I refused (until next week I’m sure).

The Office was incredible this week!  I love how quickly it turned from Michael trying to prove a point to Michael truly being talked down from the roof of Dunder Mifflin.  Creed and the Great Potato Switcheroo was genius.   All of the betting was classic Office.  Love that Michael was the one that broke Darrell’s ankle.  Andy’s back, sorry Drew.  And finally there was nothing funnier than the Star Trek wall of Shunning that could come shunned or unshunned when needed.  Way to go Dundies!

Original post: I wanted to quick write and say that the finale of Friday Night Lights was incredible. It was moving, emotional, and heart warming and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

American Idol sent Slutty Scarnato home… finally!

LOST blew my frakkin’ mind! Hope to blog about that later. Unbelievable.

    LOST Makes Me Happy

Lost Mud FightI can’t go into detail about last nights LOST because I’m way too swamped with work and I owe people a SUPERNATURAL update to go along with Post 1 and Post 2 but I wanted to quick write and say that LOST truly makes me happy to watch television.

The intricate character backstories and the overlapping and weaving of ancillary characters is not only mesmerizing, its really respectful of viewers who love to catch every little nuance of the show and find the backstories some of the most compelling components.

Kate’s backstory was last night and we were reunited (as was she) with her Mother (who may or may not be a witch, god that Sabrina show was awful) who turned her over to the Feds for blowing up her wife beating loser Stepfather. When we last saw the Mother she was dying on a gurney in a hospital and she screamed bloody murder when Katherine showed up. Not a pretty scene. So while she didn’t scream bloody murder, she did tell her daugther that what she did was wrong and that’s why she turned her in. Not only that, but that she still loved the abusive bastard and if Kate ever showed up again she would turn her back over to the Feds! Nice…

The real kicker though comes from who she spends her flashback with. It’s Kim Dickens’ character Cassidy who we last saw being scammed by her love James Ford aka Sawyer, Kate’s most recent lay.
